Explanation
Bats are mammals right? Well yes. They are warm blooded mammals. Have you ever seen a bat before? I haven't but I wish to. Are they an endangered species, yes. They were almost extinct from all of us from taking over the land. That’s why they were almost extinct. How can we save the lesser short tailed bats almost from becoming extinct?
Paragraph 1 is going to be what is killing the bats.
Paragraph 2 is going to be about their habitat loss. ( their forest are cut down )
Paragraph 3 is going to be how can people help the bats.
One reason why our bat are in danger of becoming extinct is because there are predators killing them such as, rats, stoats, cats and possums those are the predators that killing them. They are easy to kill. Possums climb up trees into the roosts (nest) to eat pups.
Habitats loss
Another reason.
What is harming the bats? Predators are harming the bats because they kill them and eat them.
What’s keeping the bats Safe
Supplies food and water.
How can you help save the bats
You can help bats by doing, do not leave your cats escape, find the predators then kill them and keep them safe if you find them.
Endangered
Sadly the bats are endangered because they are almost extinct and their loss habitats.
Where they live
The tiny lesser short tailed bats live in the forest, “you know, I think so”. Well they live in the hollow trees or in a cave’s.
What they do
Bats look for food on the ground, they scuttle around to find some food like insects and seeds.
They also scuttle like a rat.
Endangered too
What is endangered too is a wood rose. When a bat is extinct the woodrose would be extinct as well. The woodrose lives on the ground, it grows on the roots, native trees and shrubs.
Well that's enough stuff I can tell you all about bats well some of it.
Afew weeks ago we have been learning about different kinds of animals but I did a bat.

Katydid Book Reveiw
This week I’m learning to learn to surmise the text and respond to the text. My favorite part was they camouflage and also their ears a down the bottom of their legs. What I not know about the katydid is they sing but now I learnt about it.
The Singing Leaf book Review
I have been reading an awesome book could the Singing Leaf this article and photographs by Briar McMahon this book is about katydids and what they do and what they look like. What interested me was
katydids ears are down the bottom of their legs, did you know that? Do you know what a katydid looks like, here is an example of a katydid.
I learnt a lot from this artice like what they eat they camouflaged into that color like if they eat a
colorful rose they turn into that color. How they sing they rub their wings together and there sound is like this zick, zick, zick. Do you know when they eat they eat at night during the day. Katydids split their skin nearly five times.
I learnt that katydids sing with their wings and they split their skin nearly five times and I liked learning about this katydid life cycle.
Here is my question for all you readers, what do you like about this book reveiw?
In my own words this article is about?
it’s about katydids
Gives info about what katydids look like and what they do.
Who- katydids.
Where- katydids live in south america and the amazon rainforest.
What- they eat they camouflaged into that color.

Recount holiday
This is my recount i have been working on this week. I hope to get ideas on what i did well and how i can write better. My next step was to learn how to use speech marks and comes in the right place.
Auckland zoo!
It happened in 6th of October 2016 by Zephaniah
I had the most exciting and amazing holiday going to Auckland Zoo. “I have never been there before” I say to myself, I was really blown away like a bomb exploding. My whole family went to Auckland Zoo, except my mum and dad. I went with my uncle, aunt, Nan, papa, cousins and my brothers and sisters.
Once we got there we first had to get our tickets to enter the zoo, while we were waiting for the tickets to come, we already saw some animals, it was a very tall giraffe like an very tall tree. Five minutes later we got the tickets then we entered the zoo so we can
see heaps of awesome animals that we haven't seen before. Sadly We didn't see all of the animals because we had to travel back home after that, but anyway here is some animals I want to shear. Just kidding, I meant like share with you. (shear means like saving something that is hairy like a sheep)
We saw really awesome animals like red pandas, tigers, spider monkeys and apes. My favorite part was the macaw bird because when we were watching the tortoise this lady name Lizzy popped out of nowhere and called out to two zoo keepers to get two macaws out so they could have a train. So one of the macaws had really colorful feathers and a sharp round beak and sharp claws. One of the macaws came on our side to see up close, so the zoo keeper put the macaw on one of the bird stands and the zoo keeper stand all the way to the chair and he put his hand out and he said “come on” and the macaw came to him, and then he got a treat for the macaw, the treat was a peanut. The macaw was quaking like a duck while we were looking at them.
After seeing all those awesome animals we had something to eat and then we traveled back home. I will never forget that day going to Auckland Zoo. The best part i liked was having a great day and getting a chance to see my brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles and aunties.

Bok choy
This book is written by Paul Mason and the story is Bok Choy.
It is about a little boy named Jacob and a Chinese man Ah Sum. It is in Otago in a gold mining village in 1865.It is about Ah Sum saving Jacob when he was drowning.Ms Bishop was racist to A sum, Jacob and his mother were very nice to Ah Sum. But Jacob did not like Ah sum.Mrs bishop’s son name is william. He wasn't nice too. He was following his mother being racist. He was saying chinaman and tamping the carpet.
My favourite part is when Ah Sum saves Jacob.
Something that surprised me is when william is racist to A Sum.
Something I have learnt is commas and hard words.
Something interesting is when Jacob nearly drowned.
