Visiting Portia Woodman

Visiting Portia Woodman

On week 3 last Thursday, Portia Woodman came to our school. None of us has ever seen her before. We were all thrilled to see her. The shining sun shone upon the school for
her to have a warm and nice welcome to our school. It was very exciting. Portia Woodman
is one of the rugby league sevens player.

At 9:30 am on Thursday 9.8.18, Portia Woodman finally came into the library to visit our
school. When she came in I was shocked to even see her. I was so excited. Because she
is a famous rugby player, she talked to us about her years being a rugby player. With her,
she brang along her awesome medals and her team trophy. One thing she talked to us
about was how she got her medals. I remember her saying that one of her medals were
from the commonwealth games and also remembering that as a school, we watched it
together and was cheering her off. Hearing her stories, I was so inspired of what she
said and made me think that when I grow up, I can be like her. We were all listening
carefully.

When she was finished talking about her experiences in her rugby days, we had a school
photo with her. It was fun when we had a photo with her. Do you want to know why?
Because most of us got to hold her medals and trophy. But was unlucky that I didn’t
get to hold any of her medals but was lucky to see them be happy as a school. Even
though I didn’t get hold her medals, I got to shake her hand and hug her. It was nerve
racking because I kept thinking what she will say to me and if I become shy when rely
back. But my prediction was wrong, I got to talk to her and say hi. After that she had
to leave.

I was amazed seeing a famous rugby player. I was so excited to see a famous rugby
player. PORTIA WOODMAN! That day was impressive seeing heer and hearing some
of her stories about how she got her awards. Also to be seeing her trophy. We also had
an amazing time having a school photo with her. So that day forth, this would be a
memory that won’t be forgotten. Especially when it’s with Portia Woodman.

Around The World

Kia-ora everone, welcome back to my blog. This presentation is a about populations around the world. This bar graph will explain all about some cities and countries populations. How I made this successful was by using the world map to help me know how many people that are in the country or city. This was so fun to do as I got to explore many cultures and their populations of the cities/countries.

This explains about the populations around the world:

Otara Market

Kia-ora everyone, today I will be presenting a presentation of my writing. This story is when I went to Auckland to go to the market in Otara. But this story will explain more so without further or do, start reading.
Otara Market

It was Saturday, the start of my holiday indeed. When the family goes out for a holiday together. In the holidays, we went out to Auckland to go to the Otara Market to spend time with each other. My brother, sisters mum and I went to a place where islanders like Samoans sell things related to there country.

At 9 o’clock in the morning, we departed from our home and realized that the road was very crowded. Then we decided to take the other lane to save time. For about thirty minutes, we were out. But not yet arrived. We tried to quickly go to Otara before the day even ended. After that, we finally arrived at our destination in Otara where the market was.

Afterward, we went to have a look around. But every time we go to markets we often have something to eat, of course. So guess what? We went to have a huge island feed. How delightful! The food was mouthwatering. So we finished up our last piece of nice delicious food then headed off somewhere else. The time goes by and suddenly we see an awesome group of Samoans singing in a quire. It was like birds singing in the sky, but better. It sounded calm and relaxing.

When we finished hearing them, we went out to where the shopping stands were to find things we may want. We saw a lot of things on the stands mostly fruit, vegetables, and food trucks. It looked so awesome. I came around to this stand with cool looking clothes and I suddenly happen to by one. Because it looked that cool, I had to. A few hours go by and we went home. I had a lot of fun at the market.

At last, it has been so amazing spending time with my family. Seeing all the things at the market like mouthwatering food and shopping stands. Also to be seeing the Samoan quire vocalizing like birds singing in the sky. So that day forth, this will be a memory that won't be forgotten. Especially when it’s with family.

How Do You Write A Positive Comment?

In the afternoon we had to write a post of what we learnt today. Here's what I want to say about that.

Today Whaea Tania came into our classroom and taught us how to write a great and positive comment. So we watched a video about coloring someones else's canvas. After watching the video Whaea Tania got out some ice block sticks with all of the classrooms names on them. She put them in a kete and we were to pick one out. Who ever's names that were on the stick, we had to write a comment on there blog to color there canvas. So the person I wrote to was Iverson.

Here's what I wrote to Iverson:

Hi Iverson, it's Zephaniah here. I like the way how you explained what you did on learning how to code. One nice thing I heard in your post was that you helped others how to work and Finnish all the levels. I also like the way you screenshotted your certificate and a photo to show what you've been doing. Maybe next time you could add more sense to what your explaining in the text for example, the punctuation and putting it all together so it all can make sense well it's in one paragraph. But overall, great DLO on learning how to code. Blog You Later!

What I learnt today about coloring someone else's canvas, is that when commenting on someone else's blog, it will brighten there day by coloring there canvas.
