In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields

How I feel about this poem:

I'm just like you Georgia, lucky as to be in this safe country. It also makes me feel so happy and sad at the same time because our loss we have during the world war 1 and 2 army. It's been a privilege to be here and standing here safe. That's how i'll feel. I also feel free in this country. I hope for you on how you feel about this poem....

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies
 grow, In Flanders fields.

  1. Good Afternoon Zephaniah,

You are right! We are very lucky to live in New Zealand where there isn’t any war going on. It’s amazing to see that you understand that we are privileged here in New Zealand. That our ancestors fought so that we could have a safe life here. This is why we celebrate ANZAC day every year, to honour those who fought for our country. Do you celebrate ANZAC day, every year? Did you have any family members who fought in either of the world wars?

    Blog ya later!
