Week 1, Activity 11 - What's In A Name

For this activity, I had to imagine that you I allowed to change my name to anything that I wanted. On your blog, tell us what you would change your name to and why you would choose that name.

  1. Kia ora Zephaniah,

My name is Taleisha and I am a year 8 student commenter for the Summer Learning Journey. I was given the job by Tayla. She will comment on your blog posts at some stage :)

What a cool name! The name Summer is a really cool name. My mother's friend's name is Summer. But I find it really cool that you want your name (if you could change it) to be Samoan. That is really unique! Also, great job for attributing your image :)

I hope to see more posts from you later on these holidays!

I liked how you used your own culture to make your name. I enjoyed reading it and it's definitely learnt something new, Tauma Fanafana is my favourite season too.

Do you think people should change their names or keep their original name?

  3. Kia ora Zephaniah,

I loved reading about which name you would choose if you changed it. I think it can be hard to think of a different name when you're so used to your own, but you've clearly thought carefully about this activity and I think you've come up with a great name to choose!

I think Tauma Fanafana sounds like a really cool name! It has a ring to it. Summer's my favourite time of year too! I love spending time swimming at the beach, have you been to the beach this summer yet?

It's great to see lots of colours and pictures in your activities, Zephaniah! Keep it up :)

    Ngā mihi,
    Tayla
