For this activity, listen to the podcast of Yusra Mardini, or read her story on her personal website.
On your blog, retell the story of this amazing young woman from Syria.
Wow, I love how you've retold this story from Yusra's point of view. You've done really well to capture what happened and the emotions that might have been involved too.
I can only imagine how Yusra would have felt when the boat engine died and she decided she needed to swim to save them all. Frightened, brave, exhausted, overwhelmed. But what an amazing story of strength and perseverance! I am so glad it ended well, and that she has gone on to tell her story and even compete in the olympics!
I hadn't heard of Yusra or her story before reading this activity, had you?
I hope you're enjoying the activities so far! I'm definitely learning a lot from reading everyone's posts.
