What Do You Do With Your Rubbish?

I strongly suggest that we shouldn't throw our rubbish in the landfill. Only a few people care and the rest are a bit odd. We don't want to throw everything in the landfill. Is this what everyone wants? Well I don't.

One reason we should not put all our rubbish into landfills because the rubbish could end up finding its way to the Pacific Ocean. In the Pacific Ocean there is a magnificent patch of garbage called the trash vortex. Many animals are dieing because of that. Along with other waste that  swirls slowly around like a clock, there's dead fish, marine mammals, and birds who get snared. Some people think its alright to throw their rubbish anywhere they want. If it's you, you should be ashamed of yourself because do you know what you're doing? I suggest that we have to make our world workable, clean and so we can have pure water.

Another thing we can do instead of throwing it away is we can recycle many things like paper, cardboard, aluminium cans, glass and many more. The more we recycle the less rubbish we put in the landfill. How can we stop making the landfill getting larger and larger? And how can we stop this from happening? I know, we can remind each other and tell them to not throw their rubbish for example lets say “hey you forgot to recycle your rubbish” because we're not going to do it for them they need to self manage their self.

In summary I think we should recycle not throw it in the landfill or take it to the dump because you know we got options but we need to self manage our self because your not hurting our community but let’s make a change for once in our lives and so we can make our world a better place.

I have been learning to put ideas in each paragraph and to use detail. What I found hard is rereading my work and to add more punctuation. My next step is to plan my ideas with out the teacher.

I am learning to read data displays and make statements about it.

 Why are titles so important? They tell the reader what the data is all about. What information is given on the Y axis? The Y axis is the amount of people who agreed. What information is given on the x axis? And the X axis is what they voted for. How many more people give their waste to animals than for compost? 13 - 9 / 9 + 4 = 13 Write a statement about this information: There is one person at Tautoro school that feeds organic waste to a worm farm. There are more animals than compost, nothing and worm farm. There are less people who voted for worm farm and there are more people who voted for animals.

What Rubbish!

This week I have been learning to gather, sort and display information. We wanted to find out what families at Tautoro school do with their waste.

Firstly we created a questionnaire.Then we made tally charts and used google sheets to present the information. One thing I learned about this is how to make a questionnaire and to ask the people what they do with their rubbish. How I did this is I asked question like if you recycle, what do you do with hazardous waste and what do you do with organic waste.  Then I created a tally chart.

Fraction Of A Number

I have been learning fraction of an number. What I found hard is when I solved it but when I had a lesson it was now easy. here is a video of me solving fraction of a number!!!

Have you ever heard of Argo floats?

This is my presentation about Argo floats.
I found getting the images easy.
But what I found hard was coming up with my own questions down.
My next step is to try be more creative and put my slide show on a powtoon.
I think I was successful because I was able to add images and find out information about Argo floats.

How We Use Our Waka Hoe

I have been learning our school values with a DLO. I have been creative using my DLO in a kizoa video. I was nervous making my video. My next step is to try make my video download faster.

Treaty Ground

Last Friday Tautoro School went on a trip to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

The four places we visited were:

1. The Waka House
2. The Museum
3. Marae
4. Treaty House

The part I enjoyed

The part I enjoyed was when we went into the museum because there was lots of interesting stuff but the best was the Treaty of Waitangi paper it was kind of messy but it looked old and we saw an awesome big greenstone. There were lots of photos and things in glass boxes there was heaps of touch screens as well.

Holiday

This is my holiday recount. I have tried to proof-read my own writing
Christchurch Trip

I had the most amazing holiday, going to Christchurch. As we traveled to Christchurch I was really excited. We arrived, as we went through the gate. It was mind blowing. We just walked inside, my aunties were coming outside to open the door for us, and they looked different as well. We gave them a hug then the adults sat down and us kids played outside. Then a car came, we went in the front to have a look who it was and it was my uncle and my cousins, we played together then we had some kai.

We woke up it was a beautiful morning, we had breakfast then we went out for a drive and we saw my old family's home and it was busted down. and most of the other houses were busted down as well, that was very sad. After seeing that we had a swim, it was called the whale pool, the pool looked fun so we went in and we saw a fake large whale and I thought “so that’s why it’s called the whale pool”. That was so fun, a few minutes later we went back to my aunt's house then stayed there till it was night then go to sleep then wait for the next day.

So we woke up again and it was a much better morning, the sun was shining and the birds were singing. We had some breakfast then we went out again. We went to go to a place called cookie time, it was a place where all the cookie times are, in the old days 1983 you get to pay one dollar to go in and you can eat whatever you want, but that didn't happen to us because now it’s a shop but it was still fun. After that we went back to my aunt's then had a play and have a sleep. That’s all I have to say because it’s going to be a long story.The End

I was really happy and that was my first time in Christchurch but I was really happy when I saw my family even the family I haven't seen for years but it was a little sad when we went back home.
