Fairy Tale: The Lighthouse (here is a link to the video I translated)

I was working at a table, inattentive to the village cheering and celebrating. I shut the window
so I wouldn’t have to hear the loud noise. Suddenly, the window had opened again and blew out
my candle. I heard a loud noise that was unlikely heard. Out of nowhere, the lighthouse has
unexpectedly turned off, as if it was broken. The villagers had stopped cheering, and the
village was all quite.I quickly ran up stairs to see what was happening. “Uhh”. I gasped. “What
had happened”. I thought in my head. I grabbed my tool box and laid it on the ground. I swifted
across to the main light and opened its door. “There’s nothing wrong with it”. I thought in my
head once again. Surprisingly, a boat hurried along the ocean to get to shore. I hesitated, and
so I rapidly took off the light and walk to the working table. I was rushing too much and there
I was, over on the floor, afflicted by the tool box I put down earlier. I lingered, trying to find
a solution to help me fix this problem. Then an idea came to my mind, I hurried down the stairs
and scrambled down to the village. I opened the door to the building, one by one. We gathered
around the lighthouse and used our candle lights as a signal for the ship to go to shore safely
before it crashed through the rocks. It all ended here with a safe and sound ship and a nice
helpful village.
THE END.

From where I live is the most buetiful place you could ever imagin. The mornings are lovely and calming where birds cherp and cows moo-ing. What a wonderful place. The place I am talking about is one of the historic placse in NZ, Tautoro. This place is near Kaikohe so I will include it too. What is special about Tautoro you may ask? Well, there are many things you could do here such as milking the cows, cutting the gorse, and going to school. Naa, i'm just joking. (but believe me, these things is what I do at home) I'm like a country boy. Tautoro is where my family is originally from. I have been born and raised in Tautoro and in  Kaikohe for my whole life.

I would now like to talk about Kaikohe. In this wonderful place you find the most pleasing people here. There so kind and loving and most of them also go to church. I'm talking about the 'Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints'. Thats where I go for church also. In Kaikohe, there are a lot of awesome places that you could exsperience here. Mainly the Pioneer Village. Because Kaikohe is a lovely place, there are many many lovely people that you will meet. That's why these places, Tautoro & Kaikohe, are the best places and this is where I am from and where I belong.

So that is mostly it for me describing my hometown and where  my family is originally  come from.
I hope you enjoyed it!

The Three Little Pigs

Kia-ora everybody, today I have posted a narrative story about the three little pigs. We have re-written a video on a site called literacy shed. The video re-writing was about after the three little pigs boiled the wolf alive and every single information was across world wide. So they got sent to jail for it. Anyways, this is what my piece of writing is about. Here is my narrative and I hope you enjoy reading.
Here is my story that I have created using canva!

Smart Media

The Kawa of Care states I will make the most of this opportunity to learn lots of new things and to share these with others. I will always be in the right place, at the right time when I am online. If in doubt I will ask my teacher or parent.
To achieve this I need to be media literate by having the ability to analyse, evaluate and participate with various forms of media (understand media, make informed judgements about media and create my own media). Down below I have inserted a google drawing about the media I have done so far today.

Why A Mare Is Special For Its Community

Kia-ora everyone, today I have writin a piece of writing that explains why a marae is special for its community. Down below I have inserted my results that I think I should have and I hope this may help you in the future to make your writng more interesting. What I found challenging was how I scored myself because I wasn't shore if I should score myself this or score myself that. But in the end I found my scores and I thought I done pretty well. My highlights was being able to reflect on my own work and to be able to learn from myself by using awesome grammar in my story. Read through my writing and give me some good feedback and some feedback of mistakes that I need working on. I really hope you enjoy reading through my writing and I hope this will help you if you have any type of test that includes writing.

Why A Marae Special For Its Community

A marae is vital for the community so people are able to learn about their
heritage. A marae can be used for many occasions such as tangihanga,
education, and also celebrations. A marae is crucial as it was brought dow
from our ancestors and tupuna so that the citizens of New Zealand are
able to have connections within a marae. A marae holds many things such
as history and culture so that we are able to learn about a marae and how
its important to the community.

One of the main reasons why a marae is special for the community is how
it could be used for tangihanga. The tangihanga is the enduring Maori
ceremony where people express their love and gratitude towards the loved
one who has passed away. It is very important that tangihanga are held
at a marae because it creates a sense of belonging. Countries around the
world would maybe use churches and even funneral homes to have their t
angi’s. The Maori culture including other race’s don’t have to use a church
or funeral home because lucky for us, we have a marae to use. It is
dominant for us to have a marae to use for tangihanga from or ancestors
and tupuna.

Additionally, a marae is also unique for the Maori culture as it could be
used for educational learning about the cultural artifacts. How it could be
useful for education is how the carvings were made and the information
behind it, the Maori language and how its spoken in the marae, and when
and how the marae was first created. It is essential to learn about the
history behind the marae because of how it is significant for those who
like to learn about their whakapapa. You may as well learn about your tupuna
and ancestors and how they were brought up in a marae. It is important
that people are able to learn about their heritage and learn about the
cultural artifacts and the information behind them.

A marae is also furthermore useful for celebrations that are celebrated
such as birthday parties and even tribal events. These occasions are great
to use in a marae as they are times to hang out and spend time with the
family and having an enjoyable time. It is a way to celebrate and
commemorate with each other by having some type of relationship.
Most of the time, us as Maori celebrate tribal events by expressing
ourselves, which is very important for those who enjoy spending time
celebrating what their ancestors and tupuna done in the past. Around the
world, they celebrate birthdays and other events which then is done and
dusted as for Maori, we commemorate with each other by celebrating
events for maybe a couple of days and that's how we celebrate birthdays
and other events.

To sum it all up, people are able to know and have the knowledge to learn
about their heritage and how a marae is special for their community. It
is used for tangihanga so the people are able to have somewhere to express
their love and gratitude towards their loved one who may have passed away.
It could be used for learning about the educational artifacts such as
carvings, how the Maori language is spoken in the marae, and also when
the marae was first created and the information behind it. Last but not
least, it is used for the importance of how it could be used for celebrations
and tribal events and how people commemorate with each other. This is how
a marae is special for its community.
