What do you do with you plastic bags?
I strongly suggest that plastic bags are horrible and bad for the environment.
My first reason why it’s bad for the environment is animals are dying. It’s devastating because many animals are dying by swallowing it. Think of the innocent marine mammals and sea creatures and how they're living in the dirty waters and on land. They have been forced in the devastated sea and land and look at the amount of rubbish we are making. Isn't this atrocious? Up to 100,000 marine mammals and sea creatures mostly whales, seals, and turtles die each year around the world after eating or becoming tangled in plastic bags.
My second reason is they take years to decompose, it's non-biodegradable, it’s non-renewable, (Non-renewable energy comes from sources that will run out.) Added to this it mostly takes up the landfills as well. New Zealand use around three million bags a day and that's nearly a billion bags each year. Plastic bags are difficult to recycle into new products. Plastic bags and other plastic, they get piled into the landfills. Isn't this outrageous? Well I think it is.
In summary I think that we should not use plastic bags because of the animals suffering because of the amount of rubbish we are making but instead of using plastic bags why can’t we use paper bags or other bags but plastic bags. It’s so we are not killing and making our animals suffer a tragic death.
This week we have been learning to plan for writing using language features of persuasive writing. What I found easy was putting emotive language in my story. I think I was successful because I was able to reply to my teachers comments.
